Anyone use Garageband here?

Thanks, everyone, for the input....truly appreciate it.
Mostly it's just a way for the students in music class to do a bit of their own composing/recording and play around with it a bit. We bought a full size weighted key digital piano and will be using up to 10 midi keyboards as well. Bought a drum kit and also looking to purchase a guitar. Have the Roli Songmaker kit on order. Have a Steinberg interface and speakers. Going to purchase a mic (Shure SM58).
We have iPads so that's the reasoning behind Garageband. I was put in charge of getting things set up, but with very limited knowledge. I quickly learned that there's a whole lot to know!! Both regarding the instruments and the equipment needed to make things go.
I believe we need plug ins/Jam Packs as we'd like to have saxophone/trumpets/etc.
I did reach out to Tom Lee and L & M...but, being right before Christmas, they were pretty swamped. A lot of instruments are on back order as the pandemic has them on high demand. -
I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure you're going to need an adapter to use your steinberg interface to connect with ipads.
SM58 mics are great, They are dynamic mics however..I mostly use them to mic drums or something that is a little more 'harsh'. They are not bad for recording rock vocals for example.
But if you are looking to record voice recordings, I would go for a condenser microphone..I use the Rhode NT1a (I swear by it). Never looked back but I've had this for many yrs so I can bet the have a newer version out.
Headphones ; audio technica ath-m50x , not even a second thought.
Midi keyboard on a budget : M-audio
Good luck, I do this for a living, so if you have any questions, feel free.

I have no life, what's your excuse?

Wonder if the Blackhawks' fans are trading their whole team in yet.

Of course...scheduling is that the Lions playoff game starts at exactly puck drop time for the hockey game. How dumb. I'll be going back and forth but my loyalty is to this team/game, so mostly hockey it'll be. WE ARE ALL LION CANUCKS

RIP Ed Asner

Fun fact: does anyone other than me remember those athletic TV productions where they would pit male actors vs female actor, older ones, younger ones and do various running events, jumping events, etc. Ed Asner was in one of these and if I'm not mistaken they put him up against Rita Moreno. She had such a handicap, and Ed almost caught her.

CFL? Anyone?

Bure interview coming up:

Bure created some of my greatest childhood memories during the 90’s.
I was Pavel Bure on every single goal that I scored on my drive way playing street hockey with my friends.
His goal in 1994 against the Flames is one of my favorite memories in life, along with his very first shift against the Jets in his first game.
Safe to say that I’ll be listening to this interview.

Got the news Dad's little brother passed away suddenly last night...very unexpectedly.
Enjoy every second of this life because you just never know when it's time.
Rest well, Uncle Bill. -
The comments from Laine and the fact that there are reports of a bit of discontent in the Jets' room makes me so happy our guys aren't divas...even if they like Fortnite. Good on paper doesn't always mean it works. I feel our team "works" together. Bo accepts his role when others are out. Petey just wants to be better. Jake is working toward how he can be his best and is working hard to prove that (not talking to the media about how unfair it is). Stech is a beast. Quinn's a treat. Brock wants to be here with his brothers. Etc. That's a team.

Loui E. will be gone soon enough(I know not soon enough for some) ,we still have some pretty young guys trying to fill huge skates.
We will start to take it to the league pretty soon just like when the Sedins were here and a few more players will be older wiser and some will be skilled and speedy and be putting it all out there for our "TEAM".
GO CANUCKS!

Out for my walk at lunch when a bunch of screaming kidiots came running toward me throwing sand at each other as they ran past. Got some in my eye, but I'm not allowed to body slam them so I look for a sign of life with their parents, who are seated on a bench, busily ignoring each other as they check their phones. Hopefully for a parental handbook that tells them they're failing, miserably. I won't blame the kids - it's the sadults who are clueless.

Start a new job Monday....was just getting used to being a sun bum, training hard for the slow swim in the local pool Olympics.

Football trivia time: I once had the great honour of trying on: a Super Bowl ring, a Grey Cup ring and an XFL championship ring all in one go. They all belonged to the same player...who is he?

Gutted. I don't wanna play anymore.

^Yah, I was thinkin' that the 2015-2016 might actually be a good season to travel. Let's hope these kids will all be developing way ahead of the curve & adjust to the NHL quickly. If not - movin' a few veteran players along or tanking for top-picks may not the worst thing that could possibly happen to this team... lest I remind everyone of Luc Bourdon - may he rest in peace.

My new favorite flower is the white Moon Orchid...got one for my birthday and it's gorgeous

Sometimes doing animal rescue rips my heart out and stomps it on the floor. People DON'T get bunnies for Easter for anyone unless you're prepared for the long haul. Thanks.

Abbotsford Heat to be moved.

Has anyone considered that maybe it's Lack they're showcasing and he'll be part of a deal? Who knows anymore, I sure don't?

Grouse Grinding on Sunday...wahoo!

ah, yes, the Stamina-crushing Grouse Grind (G.G. for you online nerds); didn't think walking up stairs would be so difficult... though it was predominantly only tough in the beginning when I wasn't used to it; that's not to say that the elevation isn't deceptive, b/c it looks alright but brace yourself (and of course enjoy :^P)

Feels GREAT to get my mountain bike back on the trails...although $120 for a tune up/new tire is a little steep?
