  3. The problem with canucks is they dont act like a business  in busines you buy low sell high

after 2011 sedins kesler edler burr  should have been traded but instead we waste cap for yrs on over the hill players not getting the job done and never getting assets back. Or we are loyal to garbage players like megna, raymond, larsen. And dont give other players a chance pedan subban maybe yakupov  should get a chance here cant be worse than megna

@Bur14Kes17 Edler is a different person with different values. What Garrison and Bieksa did has no effect on Edler. With the benefit of hindsight, I'd have started the rebuild after 2013 though after 2014 is more realistic. we got Boeser after the 2015 season so even the good finish that season didn't rob us of a good player.

You may want to consider increasing your ISO in most of those cases and upping your shutter speed, the apparent blur is normally caused by unsteady motion when capturing the image or by improper manual focus.  even in some cases an auto focus which is slower than your clicking the shutter.

The DoF or depth of field in some of them shows that you're using an auto program on your camera, if it comes with settings on the dial reading

      A

      S

      P

      M

      They stand for

      A:  Aperture

      P: Priority

      S: Shutter

      M: Manual

Aperture controls the amount of depth of field, and is beneficial in a lot of cases where the camera will read for you.  Shutter is all but useless as conditions change literally by the fractions of a second, P is priority mode giving your camera complete control similar to Auto function but without flash and M manual allows you to control both aperture and shutter speed and is all I use.

The beauty about this day and age is that digital allowsd you to make thousands of mistakes free of charge on an SD card so shoot practice shoot some more, it becomes second nature in a week or two.

The trick is to keep shooting everything and learn that camera inside and out.

      canuktravella

ya ive been shooting a bunch more with the manual focus on and it in m mode   how high a iso should i shoot in 600 800 2000 4000  400 wont it be super grainy if i go over 1000 iso

  8. My opinion cops in Calgary shouldn't worry about a kid playing pond hockey and tasing him maybe  don't power trip maybe do your job and arrest drug dealers and gang members what is wrong with them its like no one has any conflict reduction training.  Descalation wasn't hard to do being first person on scene at fight at bars usually it was easy to end that situation.

I'm likely to be in the minority here, but I don't really have an issue with what the police did. Did they go overboard? Maybe. But people have to stop acting like idiots, imo.

From what I read there were way too many people on the skating rink. An officer came up and asked the people to leave as they were in violation of public health codes. Seems like people basically ignored him, so he called for backup to enforce the bylaw.

I may have read the article wrong, but seems like all the officers were wanting is for people to disperse when the guy got in their faces. This may be simplistic, but if he had just left then we wouldn't be talking about this at all.

Not sure why people are surprised at the outcome. I'm also not victim shaming. Just suggesting this could have been avoided had the guy simply left as he was instructed to do.

    3. JM_

      JM_

hmm, don't think you can go that far with it Jazz. There are good police. The problem is you don't know which one you're getting. If you argue with a cop like this kid did, you're taking an unnecessary risk.

    4. thejazz97

      thejazz97

Jimmy, the good police are the ones who aren’t policing. They’re involved in the community, and they’re connecting people. Policing is inherently restrictive and they have license to act as they please. They have a monopoly on violence, represent the state, often don’t live in the districts they patrol, and are traumatizing for many racialized people to even have in the vicinity, which leads to a lot of violent interactions.

  10. twitter is  ripping benning and linden hard.  No teams offered us any picks hell id take a 5th rounder for some of our ahl plugs or any vet. What are the management doing sign rodin dont play him  he retires to sweden. sign gagner geez epic fail.   sutter and tanev need to be gone at draft what a waste of 9 mill in cap.   This team is so bad  can you imagine if horvat, brock and virtanen werent on the team wed be 20 points behind coyotes.

I thought the bertuzzi naslund incident was the most depressing time being a canuck even worse than losing to bruins in 2011 but this  team they built this yr is the new all time low point.

@HI5 I think you may be on to something, because generally speaking its the AGM who does most of the preliminary talks and fielding of inquiries by other AGMs around the league.

I'm wondering if Weisbrod puts a lot of people off, which has his AGM counter parts speaking up to their respective GMs who decide to cut bait and move on.

  12. Il never understand 3/4th of cdc always trying to trade edler hes our best vet dman makes below what he could have got on free market by 2 mill plays 22-27 mins a game gets 20-40 points a yr and shuts top oppposition down. In my mind hes a lifer canuck  im looking forward to guddy and tryamkin being here a long time   as well as stecher juolevi and hutton our dcorp looks very promising  i just wish our forward depth was this good

ya he plays  25 mins a night we have no one to replace edlers minutes if hes traded we wont lose 9 in a row wed lose like 30 in a row.  If im benning i ship out hansen, sutter, sbisa, miller and tanev

frees 20.5 mill in cap  get picks, a sniper for tanman, and few younger pieces.

let biega or dorsett get grabbed at expansion

all though pieces moved at deadline should  get us a bunch of assets moving forward let benning fibd a few more draft gems with extra draft picks a bunch of teams would massive over pay for tanev if they are going for cup run  hansen has a ton of value as well

    3. I.Am.Ironman

      I.Am.Ironman

Zucker has scored 20goals in 5/6 full NHL seasons, he's had a 30 goal year, plus he is signed for 4 more years, plus he was traded at the deadline where prices are disproportionately high. This was Pearson's 2nd 20 goal season of his career and only has 1 year left on his deal. If Pearson scored 25 goals in 2020/2021 and was signed for 4 more years and/or we traded him at the deadline (wouldn't happen bc we would want him for playoffs), as was the case with zucker, then maybe. But as it stands, you will be hard pressed to find a GM willing paying a 1st round pick for 1 year of Tanner Pearson, imo.

    4. Phil_314

      Phil_314

If his play keeps up at this year's level (which, if he stays with Horvat next year I wouldn't be surprised if it did), then I could very much see him being in demand IF  we end up selling on him next year (which could happen if any of Lafreniere/ Hoglander/ Ferland are knocking on the door for a permanent top-6 role).

Some people seem to think that JB could just drop 1-3 of our dmen and instantly replace them with above average players. I'm sure the fact he hasn't is not for lack of trying, rather that it's easier said than done.

This is why I'm happy with the Juolevi and Hughes picks, we can't rely on trades or FA's to improve our blueline,  thesedays, it's got to be built through the draft.

    4. DADDYROCK

      DADDYROCK

At this upcoming draft here in town we should once again try for high end D talent unless a real bona fide sniper is available.

Draft the defensive talent to help us be contenders because defense wins championships.

A bit of luck at the draft would really help speed up the rebuild, because with the "lotto draft" it all about "LUCK"

Benning needs to make a major trade to bring in some forwards that are hard to play against who have skill and grit. edler or sedins wont waive ntc so we are stuck with these guy unfortunately  eriksson s contract is horrble but he will have a better season next yr under any coach not named willie.

His contract is a poison pill in regards to his production vs cost but while "little things" has become a bit of a joke he's far from useless. It's wonderful to be able to do these things, and then again the first forest fire can have your dreams and  finances crushed.

Not trying to be a downer just trying to give some reasonable advice.

The people of California want to move out into the lust forested areas to build million dollar mansions and don;t realize those fires are brutal and non forgiving.

its gunna dip 5-10% at the most but thats going to be neighbourhood to neighbourhood not everything gunna correct( condos probably get cheaper).  Real estate correction already happened last 2 years, and it was brutal. This coming recession isn't real estate based.  If Your in the main cities , a lot of the jobs are going to be coming from real estate. The prices are going to stay the same in south coast. in the kootenays prices should go down but a lot of oilheads move out there. They're gunna be flocking here, alberta going to be a welfare state for 5 years at least.  so i don't know about 15-20% correction. it all depends on inventory, are there a lot of acridges out there available in that range?  just keep making low ball offers, shoot ur shot til something sticks take it as a sign its meant to be. otherwise your gunna pay 80 grand anyway. it could go up too

  23.  hughes descision to go pro  will probably happen but it means hutton will be odd man out  maybe benning can get a b level prospect for him

Pearson (U of Michigan coach Mel Pearson) says by the end of next week is when he thinks Hughes will make a decision.

  24. Time to  trade some vets  and garbage plugs get rid of sutter, granlund, gaunce, pouliot, biega, gagner, schaller, delzotto, retain half erikssons contract send him east. I cant believe we spend more money on our trash d corp than nashville thats mindblowing  something benning should be fired for. Please let the regular season bump up tanev and edlers trade value they need to be gone at deadline. Literally petersson and gaudette cant do worse than these plugs

why don't we just move the team to quebec and we'll never be disappointed again. we can just pick the team most likely to win the cup and cheer for them.

  25.  benning wants to resign edler great   trade him at deadline resign in july. work out a verbal deal now we can use a extra late first rounder and another d prospect. Inquire bout teams (tampa, caps, isle, sabres, pens, oilers)  wanting tanev  and sutter  they bring no offense   rather free up 9 mill in cap for a offensive dman and gaudette can bring wgat sutter brungs already.  Id also look at offers on guddy his advanced stats are horrible  luke schenn cant be much worse  maybe oilers give us poole party;) lets fleece them

You're pumping Gaudette's tires an awful lot. I like what he brings but he's got a ways to go. That and you wanna ship out two surefire top four guys and do what? You realize any D of similar caliber we try to bring in is gonna want more money than either of em right?

      48MPHSlapShot

There's a reason that you almost never see players that are traded at the deadline resign with the team that moved them.

I'm all for moving Sutter and giving Gaudette a shot though. With Beagle as a veteran center to help him along, he should be fine, and Sutter might give us a pretty nice return.
