Miller needs to stop his pouting bit. OJ needs a shot at the second unit PP. Green and his staff are way to passive, can't line match, or embrace anything that resembles aggressiveness. Jake has checked out. Hughes needs a legit dman as a partner.

Miller was brought in to be a leader w/ a young group, had 1 good year, now is pouting as if he's about to quit on the team.

 

Kesler gave us 10 years & didn't quit on the team post 2011 until it had been completely managed into the dumpster.

Like seriously, who do we have now that is mentoring our young stars? JT Miller? His on ice laziness and temper tantrums aren't very attractive to the young guys, especially Brock, Petey, and Hughes.

 

All of our other vets aren't good enough (Benn, Rous, Beags, Sutter), are too new to form meaningful bonds (Schmidt), or are too young (Horvat).

 

Who do we have taking these guys under their wing on and off the ice? No one.

 

To further prove your point... why is there no pushback? Why are we seeing the same result of leading hockey games yet coming out with the L? 

 

The answer is there is NO ONE HOLDING THE YOUNG GUYS ACCOUNTABLE at the end of the day. That's why were seeing the same mistakes repeated game in game out, over and over again.

 

I truly believe leadership is the issue.

 

Also, flame away but I think Bo was forced into the Captaincy a little too early. The fanbase wanted another Trevor Linden and thrusted that label on him.

That’s the coach’s job re accountability. In my opinion, Green looks like he has lost the room. The team is not playing well together and I don’t know if it is a lack of coaching intelligence or ability to motivate these players. If your system is not working, you need to improvise, adapt and overcome. You can’t fire 10 players but you sure can replace a coach

Damn this is frustrating. I don’t think it’s the talent that is the issue. I’m a big green supporter but it might be time to change coaches just for a fresh start with the players.

Not a defense for Bo as captain, but no one is stopping the other vets from stepping up and leading by example too.

Or is it more plausible that the systems and the strategies this coaching staff deploys is the problem.

 

The fact that Schmidt cant figure out how to play in this teams system makes me think it’s the latter.

? The lotto line hasn't been carrying anything,  Neither has Horvat's.

I don't think Green deserves the boot, but he's the obvious choice.  I wish it was JB a year ago already.  But the team needs a shake up, and he's next on the docket, with no contract.  Although a new coach is not going to do much more with what he has this season.

He's probably the only player on the team who can get his stick on a puck in the slot. Rest of them are always on the wrong side of the puck and easy out for opponent. Also he's got a pretty wicked one timer that our coaching staff has never even tried to utilize.

There are still some sure things in this draft. 
 

Benning’s failings have not generally been in evaluation of talent. It’s been poor contact & asset management & deal-making or the lack there of.
