Popular Post Mike Vanderhoek
I have to say, its one of those trades you try and pull off on an EA Sports game. " Here take my garbage and send me two good players " and feel silly that the computer accepted or like a fantasy hockey attempt here. But the team literally moved three players fans have been moaning about due to contracts and a perceived lack of value because not hitting the score sheet. The GM sweetens the pot by adding two very good picks to ensure his steaming pile is moved out in one foul swoop while taking on a very good defenseman ( whose playing style will flourish with Vancouver's ) and an offensive winger. Now the majority of calls, texts I am hearing on social media and the radio are fans upset that 9 overall was moved, that the team has to pay $ 7.3m per for an offensive blueliner. Hello, the team needs defense, scoring from the back end and added a fast, offensive winger to help the team have 3 scoring lines. Also bak to the caphit, OEL is likely playing out the contract of 6 seasons being a valuable member of the team not to mention after another year or two the cap will be rebounding and that $ 7.3m hit won't look as daunting as people see it as now. This fanbase is very frustrating, maybe its a bigger part of just society in general, but whining and moaning for specific players to be moved, for the team to upgrade, it happens in an impressive fashion and people still rip it. Opinions are everyone's right thats cool, but its disappointing to see so many people upset when the team just improved. 5 8
Googlie
Interestingly, if you peek at the Coyotes webpage and their roster, Beagle and Roussel are already listed, but no Eriksson. Buy out?
Popular Post oldnews
Not going to argue with anyone in particular about how 'soft' OEL is, but.... OEL 1344 hits 769 games Edler 1414 925 games Been a penalty killer his entire career - stepped into the league as a rookie killing penalties - became the Yotes #1 as a sophomore. Still the 2nd leading scorer on the Yotes blueline... I guess Edler is/was "soft" as well? (or 'softer'...)? Is OEL a Shea Weber? Of course not. How many of those are there? Seriously. But regardless, so many bad takes in here wadr. 2 5 2

morrissex95
Is anybody going to give me credit for saying this is what it would take to get OEL? And the fact that we get to keep Schmidt I think we can recoup the lost draft picks by trading Holtby and Schmidt

Nucker 67
OEL with Hughes? Sky is the limit, guy is still in his prime. Probably so fricken happy to be out of the desert and in a real hockey market.

VforVasili
Here is my take. People complaining about overpaying for short term cap space and worrying about long term cap space are missing a key point. Covid has made the cap space this year so much more valuable than ever. It hurts like a gut punch to lose the 9th overall but Garland is a known commodity (and well worth it) unlike all those players that have not been subject to proper scouting and many of whom are up to two years knocked back in their development due to covid. Only up to page 25 but this has been a crazy roller coaster ride for the ages. 1

Popular Post cuporbust
People are talking like OEL was the best part of the return. This dude quietly put up 39 points in 49 games on a crappy team as a 25 year old. Common people! This was an awesome trade for the canucks. I feel like I'm taking crazy pills weeding through these replies Edited July 23, 2021 by cuporbust 3 1

For some reason these days people draw lines in the sand and that's the side they are on...forever. They don't realise that learning and changing is growth. Admitting to being wrong is actually as sign of strength.
