Granlund has shown a lot since Van acquired him. He can be a 20 goal man in the right situation. Has shown he can play on the d-side of the puck as well. I amvery comfortable with him in the line up. He is a legit 3rd line player on this roster. In a year or two he could be eclipsed by younger talent.

I'm eager to see if Granny can prove me wrong. I had him as out of the lineup this year, but his defense looked outstanding in our last game. He may yet have a good comeback year.

I am hoping he has found his niche on the team as a 3rd line PK specialist and excels at it.

He seems to be accomplishing this goal nicely so far.  I'm not sure if he's been on the ice for any even strength goals against so far.  His +/- is a bit pumped up by the EN goals he's on the ice for, but he gets those because he's a reliable player who can create turnovers and reduce chances against the Canucks.  With the exception of one game, our PK has been pretty good so far - and the way the refs are calling things, we need it desperately.

Granny has been making a comeback on the Canucks showing more than ever how strong he is defensively. He's making me look foolish for booking him as a regular healthy scratch this year prior to the season's start.

Not expecting Granlund to put up meaningful numbers. I mainly see him as an effective checking forward. It was how he was utilized last year and it'll probably be how he is utilized this year.

I don't mind. Cheap effective bottom 6 guy. He has a place here.

I think when he put up 19 goals, he created higher expectations than he could handle. He's definately underrated now and it's nice to see him getting appreciated for what he actually brings in a bottom 6 role rather than what was probably an abnormal season.

With potentially both Pettersson with a possible concussion and Beagle with a broken hand, I hope to see Granny at centre.  Has shown to be very responsible and looked like he got better in the draws during preseason.  Gunna rely heavily on him to help bring that two way presence and offense now that two our our key centres are hurt.

142.  Markus Granlund C 151 31 21 52
143.  Dave Capuano C 88 16 36 52
144.  Ben Hutton D 219 8 44 52

Remarkably similar stat lines. Impressive given that Granlund has done it playing a decidedly better 2 way game and in a far more defensive role.

With 8 points in 17 games, Granlund is putting up very good 3rd line numbers.  This is somewhat expected however, as he is on a team that currently has the 2nd highest scoring offence in the league (admittedly bolstered by that 8 goal performance tonight).  He's still doing impressive work on the defensive side of the ice and stepping up with Sutter and Beagle out of the line up.

Granny is a heck of a good 200 for player.  He’s an important Piece to this early success.  Where is (I forgot his name) the guy we traded for ?Granny?
