Anyone that has been paying attention new that we were a long way off. We ran last year depending on the kids. This year the kids have started slow. That is normal. This is actually a weaker team then we had last year.  There is 11.5 mil in cap space that is dead.  That would have been a top six forward and a solid D man.

There is much yet to fix.

I'd say the team is on par with last year, talent wise.  They do have a leadership vacuum with Marky and Tanev gone, however.

This team doesn’t play hard, our opposition gives NHL effort. Our team looks like they are on cruise control. Mix that with zero defensive structure and endless turnovers. You get exactly this.

But it has nothing to do with coaching, supposedly.

Cant agree with you more.

We dont play for the win, we play to attempt a come back and cross our fingers.

20 of them are Virtanen's fault, the other 5 because of Beagle and Sutter somehow. Don't ask, it's just what we do. Blame the bottom 6 even though pretty much all the goals against are directly due to the blueline and our top 6.

They're losing these games as a group, our top guys have certainly been suspect defensively too. That showed last game big time.

Baumer, Green, and Brown need to go. Many Canucks fans expected a step back, I don't think many expected this. When you give up that many goals in such a short span of time something isn't working. Either they're not coming prepared, they're not being prepared properly, or the effort level isn't where it needs to be and none of these things is acceptable.

You can only move so many players in and out, sooner or later it's on the coaching staff as well.

no, it's on the players.  People need to stop with excuses for poor play and poor efforts.  Greens job is to put the systems in place, work on them in practice.......it's up to the players to execute......coaches can't go out and play

The system had to make sense if the players are going to buy in and they need to match the talent available. It is also the coaches job to motivate and prepare the players to play. This team is disjointed and lacking preparedness and commitment.  Gotta believe some of that is on coaches.

Benning is responsible for the roster.

Green is responsible for getting the most out of said roster.

Neither is doing a great job.

Agree the Gm brings the players in the coach's job is to place a system to fit their strengths. Green like willy D is too stubborn to adjust.
