We ran last year depending on the kids. This year the kids have started slow. That is normal. This is actually a weaker team then we had last year. There is 11.5 mil in cap space that is dead. That would have been a top six forward and a solid D man. There is much yet to fix. I'd say the team is on par with last year, talent wise. They do have a leadership vacuum with Marky and Tanev gone, however.

Don't ask, it's just what we do. Blame the bottom 6 even though pretty much all the goals against are directly due to the blueline and our top 6. They're losing these games as a group, our top guys have certainly been suspect defensively too. That showed last game big time. Baumer, Green, and Brown need to go. Many Canucks fans expected a step back, I don't think many expected this. When you give up that many goals in such a short span of time something isn't working. Either they're not coming prepared, they're not being prepared properly, or the effort level isn't where it needs to be and none of these things is acceptable. You can only move so many players in and out, sooner or later it's on the coaching staff as well.
Canuckfanforlife82
If Benning goes you just know Green is gone as well. General managers usually like to pick their own coach.

Play the players actually putting in the effort and playing with some heart. Show the team that you earn your ice time, not get it gifted to you because you were a high draft pick. Half assed? Put your glasses on. Just because they're off, doesn't mean there isn't effort there. How many posts has Petey hit? Broken sticks. YES he's off right now....but who performed for us in the playoffs? (Hint: see above). You let them figure it out because they've earned it and they're more likely to do that on ice than off. You've been trying to prove a point with Petey, Brock (and now Quinn) for some time. It's very much a "what have you done for us lately?" deal but you somehow don't put Jake on that same platform.
AlexBurrows14Yu
They played much better and with more heart when they were losing 2-0. as soon as they tied it they played bad again.
DIBdaQUIB
2 minutes ago, stawns said: no, it's on the players. People need to stop with excuses for poor play and poor efforts. Greens job is to put the systems in place, work on them in practice.......it's up to the players to execute......coaches can't go out and play The system had to make sense if the players are going to buy in and they need to match the talent available. It is also the coaches job to motivate and prepare the players to play. This team is disjointed and lacking preparedness and commitment. Gotta believe some of that is on coaches. 1

Green is responsible for getting the most out of said roster. Neither is doing a great job. Agree the Gm brings the players in the coach's job is to place a system to fit their strengths. Green like willy D is too stubborn to adjust.
