Coaches deploy those minutes to guys who are most willing. Get a broken nose to keep Jamie Benn from the front of the net. Spend hours, weeks learning face off's with Bo. If he signs for a max of 2M per season then I’m happy. Anything more then I say let him go. The arbitrator will surely award him more but there is nothing saying he and his agent won’t settle for a little less before it gets to the hearing. I thought he looked like he put a lot of effort into the playoffs after being scratched, but none (literally) of it translated to production. Hope he can pick it up again. He has the right attitude, works hard, has scored in clutch situations and is still developing. If he can focus on his 200' game including PK time while still producing at a .5 ppg he will solidify his 3rd line position and be due for a good raise at seasons end. i would think he's a great teammate just by his demeanor and will be a Canuck for at least the next 4-5 years. Great 5th round pick by JB obviously! Lock JV in for 2-3 years at 2-2.25 M, as well as a depth RD with NHL experience and we should be good to go!
