Eriksson was thought to be a good solid winger at a good price. He was reasonably a decent skater, better numbers than Lucic, and was younger than Neal.

Maybe some guys prefer to spend the summer on vacation instead of on contract negotiations.

I think a lot of these guys will get scooped up after training camp.

On a side note, this is why expansion is so important. Good players are going without jobs.

You underestimate just HOW horrible in his own end he is.  You simply don't win with a defenseman who's that much of a liability every time he sets foot on the ice.  He's finding out the hard way there's no room for him on a legitimate NHL D corps.  He was lucky Babcock didn't hold him accountable and stick him in the press box where he belonged.

I wouldn't take this useless piece of garbage on a 2-way, league minimum contract.  Other GMs were able to see just how he gifted Boston 2 separate series due to his horrid play in his own end.

@King Heffy Honestly, that trade isn't that hard to do. Most CDCers would've done it because of how straight forward it was. Get rid of a problem player and get a 1st round pick in return. We see this all the time with the proposals.

@Darkstar I would not be surprised at all to see Colorado contend for a cup next year.  Filled a lot of holes and still have the pieces to make a move for a rental if need be.
