Hello, old friend.
-
Despite our team's utter suckage, I still find myself looking forward to Canucks games.
-
Met several of the Canucks alumni today.

@Alflives, Wellwood was chubby, not too much. Thomas Gradin and Dave Tomlinson were also there.
-
I had a dream last night that the Canucks drafted 12th and the Avs 1st.
-
Happy 20th to me!

I never understood how weight is such a knock on players. People know you gain weight, right?
-
Do people really blame the Sedins on the Canucks not getting Dahlin? That's not how probability works.

If you've been playing sports enough to make it to the highest professional level, there's a certain level of pride and drive to never want to lose, or you would never make it, let alone stay at that level. To me, throwing a so-called "meaningless" game near the end of the season is like a professional boxer throwing a fight for gambling reasons. It shows an absolute LACK of character and no respectable professional would do so.

Jannik Hansen: "You heard Jim on After Hours, you're hearing retool on the fly, fixing it as they go... they started this 10y ago when they fired AV. I haven't seen the fruits of this labour. Fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice shame on me. The next step is shaking the tree, and from the top."

You should be warned, @StealthNuck only changes titles while drunk.
-
Can we give CDC a dark mode, please?
-
I'm not sleeping tonight.

Welp, as of today, the Canucks are officially eliminated.
It's been a good run, boys and girls. Proud of the team this year.

They stuck around until game 74 of the NHL season. Nobody was expecting the Canucks to make it to the playoffs this year. That's improvement. Markstrom, Pettersson, Hughes, Demko, Boeser, Horvat, Gaudette, Virtanen, Roussel, Stecher, Leivo all contributing on different levels/making their debuts... lots of positives for the Canucks that hopefully is built upon next season.
Next season, I'm excited to see Hughes play out a full year, Juolevi make his NHL debut (I think he'll make the Canucks out of training camp after his first summer of uninterrupted training since his draft year), Demko playing 20-30 NHL games, Pettersson taking the next steps to being a legit NHL superstar, seeing Tyler Madden debut in March 2020, and I'm looking forward to seeing who we draft at this year's draft.
The big thing for this club this summer is if they can get rid of the contracts: Sutter, Eriksson, Spooner, and Schaller.I think they can get rid of 3/4 of those deals.

@Twilight Sparkle What does your post mean?
-
Biggest news of the summer:
-
Whl knew getting your teeth removed would be so painful?
-
This doesn't have any thing to do with the Canucks, but it was too good to point out. http://whl.ca/prospects/2018/173704380
-
Feels good to have a player that draws attention. Boeser is the real deal.

CDC Mafia Rules. I just learned by joining a game, and learning along the way.

Town of Salem is also a great - albeit much faster way to get a grasp of how things work
CDC's is just the slow, more expansive, and more in depth/occasionally silly version of Town of Salem. - That being said, it can be fun too xP
-
That @Boeser6 thread was spicy.
-
Tomorrow, NHL 17 should arrive at my front door.
-
I start my new job at Tim Horton's on New Year's Eve.
-
No matter what the future holds, I'all always remain a diehard Canucks fan.
-
This weekend is going to suck. I have a soccer game from8 p.m. to 10 p.m. on the other side of Calgary, so I won't be back home until around 1 a.m., and my first shift is at 9 a.m.

I miss Cerridwen.

^this. think of her as an incorporeal, wandering spirit who appears to offer advice and guidance to lost souls in times of strife and suffering. when she's not needed here, she's in other places, finding the destitute who live in proverbial darkness away from others, knowing not even themselves; she gives them hope, comfort and reveals to them a path toward light and spiritual fullness. don't think of her absence as necessarily a bad thing--though we do miss her, we should remember that she is doing good work elsewhere, fulfilling the grand duties she undertook of her own accord, often thanklessly.
-
I miss @Cerridwen too.
hope she is okay.
-
we could all learn from her
and take a long break of our own from this site
and engage the real world in our down time
but most of us, like me, find this site
to simply be too easy a go to when we have a bit of free time
to let us express whatever it seems we need
to round out our days
kinda fills a hole in a our boring lives maybe
