      Agreed. Just strictly from a PR perspective, if you're trying to sell "the future", giving the C to someone like Edler or some other stopgap would be extremely counterproductive.

      Someone is allowed to have a negative view of a team that has performed negatively for the most part of the last 10 years. Unless AV is threatening players, fans, and others, he's allowed those views. This is a fan forum after all - feels strange that mods censor other perspectives to dictate an agenda they think should be followed here.

      Keep talking like that Mr. Quacks and you might be looking at a ban yourself... I don't think it's fair to say that this team has performed negatively over the last 10 years. We had that amazing run in the Covid year where we probably win the Cup if we get a couple of bounces our way. Also 3 years in a row where we had a Calder Trophy winning player... how many teams can claim that? If you don't like our team then you can go elsewhere IMO...

    Were any of you guys the kind of fans that would blame Luongo for the teams struggles or misfortunes back in the day?

      I said it before. Luongo was a very intense, passionate competitor. If there was one problem. He wanted to win too much,  if he had a bad game, it would rattle him. Never before have I seen a goaltender on the road lose focus. Then at home be sharp as a razor. I think it was team loses though. The team needed more depth on defence. That has always been a chronic failing of the team. If the team is to win a cup. It's will a strong defensive core, with lots of depth to overcome injuries.

      I got a feeling Kass will come back for a few yrs in Van. Win a Cup in Edm, & soon they won't have enough cap space for all their young talent.

       

      Perhaps in 2 or 3 yrs he'll return. Either way, really happy for the guy, turning around his life like he did.

      Would love to see him back here, he's been having a great playoffs. I think everyone just expected too much of him, if he can play in the top 9 while being physical, the odd fight here and there and put up 35 points a year that would be fantastic.

      He's had a good couple of games.  Maybe you all can wait a bit before you continue to wax poetic about him?  He's still performing the same in the regular season as he always has.  A decent 3rd/4th liner.  Only difference is he's clean and sober now and surrounded with talent that can help him along.

      Rybar is in his mid-20's and has no NHL claim on him so I dunno how well he'd do in NA.  Zagidulin plays in the KHL's feeder league if I remember correctly.

      If I were the Sabres, I'd go backup goalie trolling and make a trade.  That's how they got Hasek cheaply from the Red Wings in the 90's.  Let the new guy and Ullmark battle it out for the starter job while Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen spends the year developing in the Liiga in Finland.

      its a bit of a mystery, he's actually been ok on the PK so you'd think his decision making on the rest of his game would be better.

      I disagree, Hutton is better but has lost his confidence. Part of the reason he's been scratched more is because MDZ is a vet. Don't forget Stetcher was not in greens good books earlier this season but once he got some trust he's excelled. Give Hutton a break, some power play time and watch him succeed.
