If the Canucks win the lottery (BIG IF) do we expose Sutter to the lottery, trade him, or have him as our 4th line center next year?

@ReggieBush Pulijarvi is in the minors - if he was 'ready' for a top 6 role he'd be in the NHL that is FACT - your comment is absurd - you say he is ready for top 6 but then say well there are other players ahead of him - i cant believe you cant even see the ridiculousness in that comment

I tried Pineapple pizza for the 2nd time in my life yesterday. The first time was when I was about ten (hated it). All I can say is NEVER AGAIN will I put such an outrageous combination of ingredients in my mouth. I doesn't work. It never will work. And you are deluded if you think otherwise. There are so many brilliant combinations that work so much better. If you need some help finding one, I can help.

I've hit the bottom of the pizza barrel. Recently I've been known to adopt any dried out ugly overlooked warmer slice from Fresh Slice when I'm in a rush. Horrible, until I dump the (super low fat/healthy?) creamy garlic sauce that's been placed in the direct sun in a metal tub of melted ice all over it and I can no longer distinguish what toppings are even on it. Skip the toppings and give me crust with salmonella sauce on it as a matter of fact. I have no shame or standards...last time, the dispenser was plugged but I still got some out of there and ate it. I am a disgrace to
fine dininghumanity.
I think I need a Steveston Pizza intervention....

I turn 21 today. Apparently its the last Birthday you look forward too. Excited for what the future has ahead (Hopefully a Canucks Stanley Cup)!

Imagine meeting a girl so pretty that your heart skips a beat every time you even think of her. Imagine her having a beautiful sense of compassion, caring, and understanding. Sounds wonderful right? Now imagine her looking into your eyes genuinely, drawing you in, then she flips a switch and begins playing you like a fiddle.

Attraction is super important when you first meet someone..... but it will never be enough to keep you invested in the relationship........
Watched a show recently... talked about the rocket needing enough fuel / jet fuel for the take off......
But that won't keep the rocket going just on its own.....
Or something like that... i was a couple glasses of Shiraz in by that point.....

obviously there is some vagueness here
and we are assumed to fill in the missing thoughts to reach that he is saying
slavery was a choice "by those enslaved"
cuz it clearly was a choice made by the people choosing to enslave them
but for his statement to make any sense, it also must presume that the people were in fact free at the time they chose slavery
(how the heck was that possible historically)
just a weird non-sensical statement

Hey look @J-23sees a picture of a rapper and he defaults to ghetto speak!

So Yoko Ono and Bryan Adams are both trending. Adams sent out a unprofessional tweet about Covid that isn't racist (yet people are assuming it is), and a large contingent of twitter are cancelling him. At the same damn time, people are praising Yoko Ono despite the fact that she used the N word in her music, was an adulter, and drove John Lennon into addiction.
Seriously? People are wild.

@Squamfan you can criticize the practices of different cultures without it being necessarily racist. People that are offended often conflate the two.

From a young age John was a tortured insecure lost man who was manipulated by Yoko when he became famous
Not long after they met, Yoko repeatedly used to stalk the gate outside John’s and Cynthia’s Kenwood estate, before eventually being invited in from the rain out of pity by Cynthia and her mother
Just after Johns murder, Yoko sent Julian a cheque for $1 (which he framed)
He since sued her and got a settlement (Most likely not to bad mouth Yoko to keep receiving)
John Lennon said in his very last radio interview (just hours before he was shot and killed) that like most young men he was more involved with his career than with his child, and he said he regretted not spending enough time with Julian. He also said that he and Julian would have a relationship in the future but sadly they both were deprived of this.
I never lived his life and would not judge him myself
As far as him not being a nice person ?,
You are talking about what John was like when he was a psychologically messed up 21 year old guy, not the pro-feminist, nurturing house husband and father he remarkably became and walked away from the drugs and the music industry to "Watching the Wheels"
John was a man of peace...grown from a boy of violence...he grew and changed and he wanted to see the world do the same
I think he brought a lot of joy to Millions of people , (just in his music alone), far more than most men have (and continues too) than he ever hurt in his life
How many people that judge him, can say they have reached that many people positively?
No-one is a saint, in death or in life and should refrain from judging someone else, especially if they were not affected - it is not like he was a murderer, he was murdered and used his powerful influence for World Peace, Women being a pro feminist, before it was popular and Minority Rights
I don’t believe John Lennon was some saint, some perfect role model, or the embodiment of peace and love. I believe he was a human with a good heart, but not without his flaws. In his words, he was a “violent man who [had] learned not to be violent”. He had the capacity to recognize and regret his flaws, and change for the better. He wasn’t a “bad” person, or a “good” person - nobody is. It’s far more nuanced than that. His path of change does not erase his violent past with his father etc, but it is still commendable. In my eyes, his reflection on his younger self’s behavior, along with his progress away from that redeems his character. I believe that if he wasn’t killed, he would have continued to prove himself to be a better person.
You might want to see where someone came from, how he rallied for causes, how he changed his life from what he knew as only a child to who he was as he died
With all that John went through and the pressures and how he transformed himself
He changed for the better,
Why slander his name
I for one am glad there was a John Lennon
.
That is my opinion on speaking ill of this dead man,
Keep yours if you will

Even if GMJB doesn't come back, he will always be the GM who laid out the foundation for our 1st Stanley Cup Championship.
- Show previous comments 10 more

jb will have a legacy here no matter what
his drafting and recent acquisition of talented young players through trade will have long lasting effect
he likely drafted our future goalie
our future offense will be a credit to him
he is quite light on what he has done for the defense core..
i think that is what might get him in hot water
an unbalanced rebuild cannot work
look at the oiler dilemma
the d needed to be drafted and developed with demko
drafting now and developing means another 3 years of average hockey
or there will be some significant players on offense traded to get the necessary dmen
and that will make many on cdc quite unhappy
cuz you have to give up top line talent to get high end d talent (d just seem to be worth more overall)

Guess who was sitting in front of me on my flight to Toronto today? TIm and Cindy Horvat. I didn't want to strike up a conversation with them before or during the flight, and was going to approach them after. Unfortunately an elderly man beside me got in the way between the Horvat's and a I, destroying my chance at saying thank you to Bo's Parents.
-
Just floating this out there because I have seen a lot of people discussing which goaltender we should protect in the expansion draft. Why not both? Offer a pick and an asset (maybe Kole Lind?) in order to keep Marky and Demmer. Just my view on things

@coastal.view https://www.espn.com/blog/nhl/post/_/id/43125/rumblings-las-vegas-will-get-a-head-start-on-free-agency
It says, "Vegas organization will have a 48-hour window ahead of the expansion draft in June to speak with and sign any pending unrestricted or restricted free agents whom the 30 teams left unprotected for the expansion draft." "If any of the 30 teams loses a free agent to Vegas during this 48-hour window, it no longer can lose anyone in the expansion draft. In other words, that free agent lost counts as the one player lost in the expansion draft."
As proof Vegas took Deryk Engelland from Calgary in their expansion draft. He was a pending UFA that summer. https://www.capfriendly.com/players/deryk-engelland Calgary didn't lose anyone else.
Seattle will have the same rules as Vegas.
-
i am wrong
not sure though why a team gets credit for a player it has no control over
thanks for the correction
but i believe an unsigned markstrom
does not count as a nuck goalie exposure for expansion purposes
they still have to expose a goalie
so if seattle does not sign an ufa markstrom
who would the nucks expose for that draft?

Re: Erik Karlsson rumours
Jim. I trust you, I like you as a GM and you are a very nice guy. Just don't trade Bo please. I don't want to hate you.

It depends on what GM Francesco Aquilini wants. And he may want to put bums in seats and screw the future.
As for why in the hell Karlsson would want to go to a non-playoff team when he's stated he wants to go to a team where he has a shot at the Cup...well why would GM Aquaman let that detail get in the way?

Cut the cord completely. Just say goodbye, and move on. It’s going to be super hard, and totally heartbreaking, but it’s for the best.
Hangout with your friends and family. Cry on their shoulders if you need to. But move on. Your friends and family are supper important to your healing.
You're a great person, and you are amazing. Say that to yourself every time you see your face in the mirror.

Its tough for me because like there wasn't even a problem in our relationship. Its just the circumstances surrounding it that is resulting in our separation. She just really needs someone who is in Vancouver rn due to some health issues that she is going through. I have no ill will towards her, because the heart needs and wants it wants. Maybe one day in the future we will be in a position where it makes sense.

Absolutely FUMING that Vancouver will not be one of the host cities for the 2026 World Cup. It's a disgrace that we have turned down the honor of hosting the world's biggest sporting event!
- Show previous comments 8 more
-
It definitely sucks, but I'm also tired of FIFA using the prestige of the World Cup as leverage to lobby for practically anything they want. No event should be important enough to give a supposedly non-profit sports governing body that kind of power.
If you don't care about FIFA corruption, that's fine, but I expect the organization responsible for acting in the best interests of the world's most popular sport to be held to a higher standard. If it takes a few cities saying no to hosting, so be it.
-
We can't know that Vancouver would've gotten a QF. It's a joint bid with the US and Mexico. With that many larger cities and bigger soccer hubs than Vancouver even if we got 3 games, they're probably prelims or early rounds. Canada would get 10 games in this arrangement to be split among Van, Edm, Tor, and Mon, if we'd said yes. I'd imagine Toronto would get a QF and that would probably be the only QF played in Canada.
Besides, if the North American bid loses to Morroco, can't they bid again for 2030 and maybe BC will say 'yes' then.
-
@Where's Wellwood We would have got a QF. We have the best stadium of the 3, it was practically a given

Liked Ronaldo when he was with my favorite club United but ever since he left for Madrid, I'm starting to not like him as much as before but I love him still as a player. Really want him to come back to United one day. With Ramos, there was really no need for the act. They were in control of the match anyways

@ReggieBush Ronaldo may dive but he didn't date no Kardashian

Am I the only one that doesn't see the issue with a Barrie trade? If it is Stetcher plus a pick, it is still a net positive from a talent perspective for a run this spring. It would be rental. Stetch isn't coming back either way.

What do you think it would take to pry Chris Kreider from the NYR?
- Show previous comments 5 more
-
Heard an expert on the radio, forgot the guy's name, saying Kreider is one of those players valued a lot more by fans outside of the city he plays in than at home. He's overrated. I like the Baer + a second offer proposed by @Odd. Any more is an overpayment for an overrated player.
-
Jonathan Toews. Will he be a HOFer when it is all said and done?
-
People call the Bo-Schnieder trade a wash thus far. I disagree. Since the trade, Bo has played in more playoff games than Cory. When it is all said and done, I think we will have won that trade by a wide margin.

@-AJ- But #1's play every playoff game
-
@ReggieBush Ah yes, my mistake there, I misread. Still, that's more of a measure of team success than individual player success I suppose. There were a couple of years when I'd argue Schneider was a top 5 goaltender in the league.
