Not like he hasn’t been riding shotgun with Sidney Crosby and Jake Guentzel for those 16 games or anything.

McCann with  Elias P could have been a cool combo going forward....

    4. Coconuts

      Coconuts

McCann was how many years ago now? Who's to guarantee they'd be on the same squad? You seem awfully high on McCann but let's be real here, there's no guarantee he'd have turned into anything more here than he did in Florida. Hell, there's no guarantee he'll be anything long term in Pittsburgh either. Dude was drafted 24th overall, that he's played this much is already a success story all things considered but you make him out to be something more special than he's shown.

i cheer for the Canucks to win because I like to follow hockey. I just do not have the time or desire to follow other teams. I like playoff hockey so I want the Canucks to be there. However, if they win or lose it makes no difference to me or my life. That being said I am eager to watch the game when it is on.

The more logical interpretation is that this team should be contending for a cup by the time EP and the rest of the young core hit that age.

    3. c00kies

      c00kies

A lot of those aged players are the ones the team developed though, so I see it as more of a growing pains and be patient statement than a go-all-in in free agency statement.

  13. I know we don't like the Oilers, but do you think it's worth it to see McDavid play live?

I refuse to go to Oilers games when they're here, but now that Sid and Ovi are at the tail ends of their career(?) I'm glad I got out to watch them both 4-5 times each.

I guess some people like McBaby. It is fun to see him get shut down I admit. Hang back, generate speed, rinse, repeat. I'd much rather see someone more physical and dynamic like Sid in his prime. I find McBaby to be a huge whiner, and that boarding he did was pure chicken $&!#.

    3. Zhukini

      Zhukini

I know I'd regret not getting to watch Sid and Ovi play which is why I asked. I do like going to games to see other teams players which is why I don't really get out for Arizona too much unless it's really a steal.

Ya still on the fence about McDavid tho.

    4. 4petesake

      4petesake

If you have a chance to go you should take it as nothing compares to seeing someone live.
I got to see Gretzky in his Edmonton days. I always hated him for treating the Canucks like his personal bi!ch so I didn’t appreciate it at the time. Now that he’s gone I’m glad that I got to watch him play. He was every bit the whiner that McBaby is but incredibly talented and hard-working.

      -AJ-

For some reason, I'm almost never interested unless the Canucks are in it. I don't even always watch the finals, but I usually catch a bit of the finals, especially when a team's about to win the Cup. That said, I have a feeling I'll be more interested than usual this year with the Canucks rising closer to playoff-level. I think I'm just a little less salty than usual this year since we're improving.

    3. Zhukini

      Zhukini

I'm kind of the opposite, I love watching games that matter 10 AM to 10 PM on a Saturday I set aside once the playoffs start.

I lose interest in the second and third rounds and even the finals depending on the teams. I dont think I watched more than 1 period in any of the LA - NJD series

  24. Is it necessary to have a dog in the cone of shame the entire recovery period after being fixed, or only If they’re being left unwatched?

    1. goalie13

      goalie13

Really, it's only if they are licking the wound.  With my previous pup (my current one hasn't had the procedure yet) all I had to do is show him the cone and he stopped licking.

    2. NewbieCanuckFan

      NewbieCanuckFan

Shhhh.....not so loud.  You might give ideas to Stealth Canuck!  Having members who were given an infraction being forced to wear that ‘cone of shame’ as penance.

    3. Sean Monahan

      Sean Monahan

My girl didn't have an issue with licking her stitches after the surgery. I just kept an eye on her at all times to make sure she didn't start licking. I think she only ended up wearing the cone for a total of like twenty minutes.

  25. The Canucks weren't tanking. They were just bad.

    1. Wilbur

      Wilbur

And now TO is laughing at us how we can't even rebuild right.  Sure TO, you try falling 5 spots in the draft in 2 years.  How would the Maple Leafs look with Zacha and Dubois instead of Marner and Matthews?

    2. -DLC-

      -DLC-

Except, some of the decisions at the end were based on not trying to win, but to give players a chance to play.  So they didn't directly try to lose per se, but they also weren't too concerned about winning.  So the tank mentality was part of that.

    3. -DLC-

      -DLC-

Don't ever try to convince me of a "tank to win" deal....just is all up in the air.  You play to win, period.
