Who cares about a friggin’ straw. That poor Subway bear (that could open doors, which is kind of cool) got murdered for being too smart. We are friggin’ murdering animals, but we worry about plastic straws destroying the planet? Our PC society needs to get their collective heads screwed on straight.

"Rebuilding the right way". Any time that phrase is brought up it annoys the crap out of me. No doubt they're in a good place now, but it's largely by virtue of the fact that A) they city they play in just happens to be the most desirable place in the entire NHL, and B] The had got lucky in the lottery. I wonder how their rebuild would look if they hadn't had lottery luck and they played in Regina instead of New York.

Getting either Cogliano or Comeau would be amazing. Both might be past their prime but would still be more valuable than Eriksson.

@Violator How do you figure that? The amount of resources the US Government could throw at protecting the base from a raid far exceeds the abilities of a raid staged online. First of all. People talk tough online. Half of those people aren’t actually showing up (and that’s being generous), and the ones that do I doubt will be organized enough to get past the base defences. Second of all. This is a country where the police and military don’t pull any punches. They aren’t going to let people raid a secure military installation. They will subdue and arrest most and those that resist will be shot. You are raiding a military base as a civilian. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

Not a single club interviewed him since his departure for two reasons. One they knew he had mostly inherited a great team and he failed to add the parts to win. Number two he was a former agent who screwed over many clubs and was likely blackballed....That team was so damn good and close it should have at least made two appearances to the finals but we had the wrong guy!

Gillis inherited Luongo, the Sedins, Burrows, Kesler, Edler, Ohlund, Salo, etc. Basically he inherited most of the core that would lead us to the Cup finals. Obviously he surrounded them with the right players, so he should get some credit. But people need to stop blaming Benning for Gillis' mistakes with those NMCs. You can also blame the NHL for allowing such big and long protected salaries to be handed out at the time. You shouldn't blame Benning for picking up the pieces and turning this organization into producing top young talent every year. It's really sad that some fans can't see how valuable Jim Benning really is.
