Winnipege definitely lived up to expectations.

Changes have to be coming in Minnesota.  

 

The Wild have made the playoffs every year since 2013 but have never gone past the 2nd round. They also have mostly the same core group since 2015.  Pominville and Scandella were traded last year, Vanek came and went and they've added Staal.

 

playoffs since 2013 Koivu, Parise, Zucker, Coyle, Spurgeon, Brodin + Suter

2014 Granlund, Niederreiter

2015 Dumba, Dubnyk

 

There were already questions a couple of years ago when they kept on losing to Chicago if this was a group they could win with.  Zucker, Coyle and Niederreiter finish without a point in these playoffs.

 

Making changes just on the fringes might not be enough.

 

Fletcher has also traded away a boatload of picks those years and the Iowa Wild have also never made the playoffs since becoming their farm team in 2013.  Picking ErikssonEk over local boy Boeser and not knowing what they had in Haula is not helping his record either.  Fletcher is without a contract for next season.

I was wondering at the time if he was simply pissed at Boudreau, but he was back out there pretty quick.
